- INTRODUCTION TO WINSIGHT (TM) STRATEGIES

- Winsight products work differently from most PC software products. There
- are four key differences:

- 1. Winsight products are strategies, not programs - each product enables
- you to use an expert way of analyzing, understanding and planning a
- specific issue you face. Winsight products allow you to apply these
- strategies directly without having to learn them - for immediate results.

- 2. They are meant to be used for the most pressing issues you face - issues
- so important that you cannot delegate them to anyone else. Issues that
- affect your performance in work and life.

- 3. They make you do all the real work - by providing questions that take
- you deeper than usual into your own experience and judgement. You

- 4. They can be used as soon as you open the package - so that none of
- your time is wasted learning how to use them. You don't even need to
- to read this introduction to begin.

- HOW YOU CAN GET THE BEST RESULTS

- This introduction will give you some suggestions to help you get the best
- results you can out of this - or any other - Winsight strategy.
-
- 1. Use the product only to deal with an important and difficult issue.
- Winsight strategies are effective because they convert your need to
- deal with the issue into energy to get below the surface of your
- habitual pattern of thought to your deeper interests and concerns.
- The strategies won't be as useful for unimportant and easy issues.
-
- 2. Take each step seriously and give it the most sincere and candid
- responses that come to mind - remember, there is no one looking over
- your shoulders. Reach deep for the most accurate response that you
- can make: especially those thoughts that seem exciting or disturbing,
- no matter how silly they might seem. Superficial responses only
- lower the quality of the results. (The strategies give you no
- inkling of their power if you simply run through them to see how
- they might work.)

- 3. Be as specific as you can with each response you make - using actual
- names, describing definite feelings and concrete actions will
- eventually produce far more useful results than with vague responses.

- "boring discussions" "Bob keeps bringing up legalities"
- "poor health" "I need to lose 20 pounds"
- "better incentives" "Start a bonus program for Ray, Jan, & Lee"

- 4. Feel free to use abbreviations and allow spelling mistakes so long as
- you will recognize what you mean when you read them later (use of
- actual names instead of pronouns can also be helpful for this purpose).
- The strategy aims to help you focus on the content of your thought.
- Don't trouble yourself with the mechanics of typing any more than you
- must.

- 5. Take care to read each question, prompt or instruction attentively.
- If you understand exactly what is required of you, your response will
- be useful later in the session - if you misunderstand, it may not be
- as useful and may need backtracking.

- 6. Feel free to return to an earlier step and add new thoughts. The
- strategy helps you penetrate below your usual levels of thought. This
- tends to bring up unexpected ideas and insights that you want to add
- to earlier steps. You can do this - the [-] (MINUS) key takes you
- back step by step, or the F2 key lets you jump across to earlier
- stages. (For this reason, avoid using the MINUS key when entering your
- text).

- 7. Finally, you may also stop whenever you want, and resume the session
- at a later time. When you return to an earlier session, you are
- always given the option to review the stages you have already done
- and get into the proper mind-set to continue - or begin directly with
- the stage where you left off.

- USING A WINSIGHT STRATEGY SESSION
-
- Instructions on the screens guide you through the four stages of the
- session. Each stage is made up of several steps. Prompts and
- questions tell you exactly what is expected of you at each step, and
- identify any command keys you need to press. You think, type in your
- response, press a key to record each entry, and press another key to
- proceed to the next step. Here is a preview of the only command keys
- you will ever need to use:

- KEY IDENTIFICATION PURPOSE

- (RETURN) or (ENTER) to record an entry / make a selection
- [+] (PLUS) to proceed (advance) to the next step
- [-] (MINUS) to review or add to a previous step
- F2 to move directly to another stage
- F7 to select from among the printing options
- F10 to quit the session (saving it for later)

- WINSIGHT'S UNIQUE FIRST-USE WARRANTY

- Winsight provides a unique first-use warranty for its registered users
- of the non-shareware products. After your first complete session with
- any Winsight product, assess the incremental ideas, insights, and solutions
- that you have gained from it, and ask yourself if the value of such results
- is at least equal to the purchase price. If your answer is yes, the
- product will have paid for itself already, and you may consider any further
- use of the strategy to be free of cost to you. If your answer is no, the
- product may not be suited to you, and you should feel free to return it for
- a full refund within 30 days from the date of purchase.

- STARTING A WINSIGHT SESSION

- All the instructions you need are on the disk itself. With DOS loaded,
- call up the A or B drive, insert the Winsight disk into the drive
- indicated by the prompt on the screen (A> or B>). Then type:
